Lorraine Susanne Redford (Morago Flynn) VIEW PROFILE

Lorraine (Redford) Morago Flynn, 63, passed away on July 6, 2008. Lori was born and raised in Tacoma "Fern Hill" and was known as Susie to her family and friends growing up. Lori (Mt. Tahoma, Class of '63) moved to San Diego in 1968, and in 1973 she and her partner opened and then successfully operated The Sunshine Factory, a full-service hair salon in Ocean Beach for over 17 years. The Sunshine Factory was the source of many lifelong friends as fellow hair stylists and clients responded to Lori's innate talent for making those around her feel loved and unconditionally accepted. Lori is survived by her loving husband, soulmate and best friend Jeff Flynn, her brothers Art Redford (Dallas), nephew Steve Redford (Kristine), nieces Shannon Burkhalter (John) and Nicola Norris (Brett), 5 great-nieces and 3 great-nephews of the Tacoma area. Lori also leaves behind her stepson, Thomas Moller (Annette), their children, Christian, Natalie, two stepdaughters, Allisa Becker (Tory) and Jessica Blasingame (GiI), all of San Diego. Stepbrother Don Redford, Jr. predeceased her. Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "A friend may well be reckoned the masterpiece of nature." And Lori truly proved him right. To each of the hundreds of friends and relatives in San Diego, Washington and all over the world, Lori was a true friend. Lovingly teaching and patiently helping those around her see past their own experiences and recognize alternatives. And as her life drew to an end, the lessons continued. She journeyed through the past two years with great dignity, an impressive amount of courage, and even a sense of humor. A celebration in her honor will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at the Flynns' home in Mission Hills, CA. A celebration will also be held at a later date in Tacoma for family and friends. No flowers please. The family has requested donations to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition in her name. While our sorrow is deep, we are forever grateful to have had such a vibrant, marvelous and unique woman in our lives. Peace Sweet Girl.

To the family of Lorraine -- I've often thought about Lorraine over the years - especially every time I'd see a wig.....and this memory still makes me smile !! Way back in the late 60's, I bought a wig -and brought it to Lorraine for styling. She did a wonderful job - the wig looked great - but she handed me a bill for $25....and I just about fainted!! - that was a big bite out of my measly budget.....that was alot of $$ back in those days. Of course I paid the bill right away - but for a few months, I had to give up many bottles of beer to make up for it! haha - Betsy Senn (Haas)
