James Ervin Larson Age 68, passed away quietly October 15, 2013 at Hospice House of the Western Reserve, Cleveland, OH. Jim was born in Tacoma, WA, and spent most of his life in the Evergreen State. He graduated from Pacific Lutheran University with a teaching degree. For over 25 years he taught in Olympia and Lakewood, conveying humor and curiosity to those in his classroom. Jim's father, Ervin, taught him the craft of woodworking. Sports and old car restoration were activities which he enjoyed. In 2007, Jim and his wife Gail moved to Ohio to be closer to their daughter Becca. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Phyllis Larson. He is survived by Gail, his wife of 37 years, and their loving daughter Becca. His brother Jerry (Judy) lives in Tacoma. Jim's extended family includes his mother-in-law, Delores Draxton, sister-in-law Joan Nevitt, brother-in-law Dean (Vicki) Draxton, 9 nieces and nephews, and 10 great-nieces/nephews. ROCK CREEK: James E. Larson, 68, died at Hospice House in Cleveland on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer.

A private committal service of his ashes will be held at a later date.
