Born in Tacoma, Washington on June 5th, 1945, died in Tacoma, Washington on May 16th, 2005. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 21st in the Mountain View Garden Chapel. Dennis graduated from Mt. Tahoma High School in 1963, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Washington on March 19, 1971. For many years Dennis worked on the West Coast as a job shopper doing technical writing, some of the companies he worked for were Lockheed Ship Building as a contract administrator and Boeing Development Center as a technical writer. He spent several years working for Lockheed in Louisiana. Dennis worked for Tacoma Boat for many years as a contract administrator. Part of his job was to negotiate cost over runs, due to lack of government specifications for specific items, when the contract was finalized. In later years Dennis resided at the family cabin in Shore Crest, near Shelton, Washington. The cabin was built in 1965 as a 24' X 24' dwelling, and became a family project in the summers. Dad built a two story addition on to the cabin, and Dennis added a. garage, and raised the roof to provide a dormer over the living area. He also enclosed the deck into a screened porch enlarging the living room, and added a concrete block foundation to the dwelling, including an addition to the bathroom. Some of his hobbies were carpentry and landscaping. He studied architecture in his spare time. He used to trade labor, helping neighbors for help in bulldozing, etc. He did some technical writing in the Shelton area, including the Shelton Fire Department, and some paralegal work for friends and neighbors. Dennis enjoyed attending the annual flower festival near Mt. Vernon every year with his friend Helen. He is survived by his brother Pat of Tacoma, his niece Marilyn of Everett, and nephew Pat Jr. of Kent. He was one of 54 grandchildren at his grandmother, Mary Kelley's birthday in 1955. He was preceded in death by his father Albert in 1973, and his mother Elsie in 2004.
